I made it to three digits!
this one is in honour of a dear friend and her awesome backyard.
Today’s episode comes courtesy of a local Ladner restaurant called Sharkey’s. Sharkey’s has been around as long as I’ve been alive (at least it seems that way). However, it has never been as lively as it has been since the current owner has tried to inject some life into it. He’s done a fine job in my opinion (it has nothing to do with excellent selection of craft beers OR creative cocktails… nothing!) – no… I’m not getting paid for this write up. although I should!
Post: black & white presets
Today I headed down to Commercial Drive and took in the Italian Day festivities. Today I also discovered I’m not quite over my diffidence when it comes to taking pictures of strangers. This is something I’m going to have to get over if I’m eventually going to make a living at travel/culture photography. I watched photographers get right into someones face and take their photo and it just doesn’t seem right to me. It seems… invasive.
So my photo collection from today isn’t as great as I was hoping. No cute pics of kids getting their face painted or fun photos of people dressed up in their colourful getups. But I did the best I could without people actually seeing me take their photo. I’m posting my favourite.
post processing: minor cropping, vignette, slight increase in luminance
I try to write about trying to write a book.
